Kick off your Cinco de Mayo weekend to revolutionary sounds of the Beatles with contagious Latin beats: Cumbia, Mambo, Cha-Cha-Cha, Salsa, Latin Rock, Bolero, Danzón, Reggaeton and more. Join us for food, fun and music at one of Silver Spring's best local music hubs, El Golfo. Here's a little history for you about Cinco de Mayo: On May 5, 1862 in Puebla, Mexico, General Zaragoza and his outnumbered force of mostly mestizo (of Native/Spanish people) and Native Zapotec fighters defeated 1,000 French troops sent by Napoleon III. The Battle of Puebla became a symbol of Mexican resistance during the war. ¡Viva Mexico and viva la musica!
